Creative Cleverness: Decoupage Chairs

Introducing Miriam, the creative cheerful face of Create, Hope, Inspire.

<--- she's all that!!!

Miriam made these amazing fabric decoupage chairs and agreed to share them with us.

Be INSPIRED!!!! I'm off to find me some chairs....

Creative Cleverness: The Juxtaposition

Take one ugly chair. $5 from the local Sallies - I bought two.

add pretty fabric from here

and gorgeous laminate from the same place

I ended up teaching 2 full days of this skill at short notice recently.

It's a slow process but for me the final result is so worth it. I really like the fabric decoupage effect. (I have a lot of them on my pinterest board actually but I do love mine very much - as one should with the things one makes. I've added some of my own too)

There are mistakes to see if you want to look for them but I like them for the overall effect.

I love how the fabric on the chair is cars and the fabric on the seat is Babushka's ..... wee Bounce likes it a lot too. He calls it his chair because he chose the car fabric with me in the shop.

Bloggers Care: Heart Appeal

The lovely Sarah from I Bequeath Love has put a call out on her blog to Give a Heart.

YOU, bloggers, can help with this request!!!

Sarah wrote earlier in the week about her friend's daughter is undergoing treatment for a rare brain tumour. You can read about it here.

Please go and read the post and then below you can read about how YOU can give a HEART. Please share this request so we can send lots of hearts to this precious wee girl and her family and show them that Kiwi Bloggers Care!

Join the heart appeal:

Thanks for wanting to give a heart.

[Check out my Pinterest board 'Love' for inspiration -lots of craft heart ideas]

Please create a heart that can be strung on a line of twine with an attached message of strength for Quinn's family. Please Like 'Quinn's Quest' and 'I Bequeath Love' so that you can receive updates.

1. Create a heart out of any material you wish e.g. crochet, felt, paper, wire, ceramic, plasticine, wood, paua etc. (suggest 4 - 10cm length)

2. Your heart must be able to be strung on a line of twine, so a hole or loop or something to attach it to the line. Please make sure it is reasonably light to be strung up safely.

3. Attach a message of strength for Quinn and her family. Either by writing on your heart or attaching a message to the heart. I like the idea of the family looking at each heart and reading a message attached to it.

4. Please address all hearts to: 'The Sisterhood Heart Appeal' Po Box 10100, Christchurch.

5. Send the heart by the 1st of June 2013. The hearts will be forwarded to Auckland to be strung and given to Quinn and her family.

6. (optional) Take a photo of your heart you can upload it to the I Bequeath Love Facebook site. Let's encourage each other.

Huge thanks to The Sisterhood in allowing us to use their Po box.

Most of all, a huge thank you to each of you individually for the love, and encouragement of an awesome family.
